The Asustor 12 Pro Gen 2 is a 12 NVME? NAS? solution. With RAID-6, I will have about 65? of storage, and 2 drives can fail. The system will sit in my bedroom, and provide for my personal online drive solution replacing the need for Dropbox or iCloud. Not even Apple offers a 65TB solution for their customers. This will definitely be overkill, but if the need should arise where I will need access to such a large system to be in place, then I will do so.
If I was to have a significant other, she will get a similar solution, and if I had foster children, then them as well. The storage for the foster children will not be as large, but will be better than what Apple’s iCloud solution will offer. Keep in mind that this solution is not cheap. There is the purchase of the NAS and then purchase of up to 12NVME modules for storage capacity. With AI gobbling up memory, and storage, it will make for an expensive solution, but it would be in-house, and I won’t lose everything because I missed a payment.
