I will have a gas line. This line will serve two options. First, it will provide for electricity in the event of a grid outage. My solar panels will still store the electricity in the battery banks, but when the banks drops below 25%, then the generator will kick on, and provide for electricity. This will likely happen at night when there is no electricity being generate. The second use will be to provide for a gas fireplace in my great room. There is no practical reason for this as there will be underfloor radiant heating, but the gas fireplace will provide for a cozy, and comforting environment.
